Mist Eliminators
Mist Eliminator Technology for airborne particle sizes that are large enough to be effectively collected through means of mist elimination rather than the use of a wet scrubber. Many of these compounds can actually be collected more efficiently by means of inertial impaction or mechanical impingement. This also results in savings in energy costs as well as costs of discharge of effluent to waste treatment. Mist eliminators, therefore, are the appropriate type of air pollution control devices for these applications.
Sepco Air, Inc. offers mist eliminator technology for most any application producing acid mist, alkaline mist, oil mist or, in some cases, mists from organics.
Mist eliminator designs are available from the simple eliminator that may be 99% efficient on particles 25 microns in diameter, to the more complex and most highly-efficient eliminator that is 99.99% efficient on 2 micron particle sizes and 99% down to an incredible ONE micron.

Fume Removal
Fumes and vapors from metal parts cleaning, pickling and plating operations are injurious to people, machines and plants. To control these hazards, manufacturers rely on fume control systems offered by Sepco Air, Inc.
The fume control systems are installed in a large-parts manufacturing plants. Portions of the system handling corrosive fumes, as well as the wet fume scrubbers, are guarantied for long corrosion-free life.

Exhaust and Make-Up Air Hoods
Stainless steel, PVC, CPVC, Solid Fiberglass and Polypropylene
Sepco Air, Inc. offers all types of fume hoods. Standard configurations are readily available, but special configurations can be designed to meet individual requirements.
Some hoods are built of PVC, Polypropylene, or FRP materials. A combination of thermoplastic (PVC) liner with a strong FRP exterior overlay is also an excellent design, providing the corrosion resistance of the PVC and the structural integrity of fiberglass.
Systems are sized to develop maximum efficiency in capture velocity and air flow. Internal splitting veins are incorporated as required to distribute and equalize flow through the hood. All exhaust hoods are designed following the guidelines of the manuals of recommended practice.

Fans
Centrifugal Exhaust Fans up to 70,000 CFM
Centrifugal fans are designed and manufactured to be completely corrosion resistant, highly efficient, and feature smooth, quiet operation. These fans are fabricated to the highest-quality standards, built rugged and heavy duty, and designed for high performance under the most severe duty conditions. Each fan is built of 1/4" steel or greater, corrosion-resistant housing and wheel, OSHA-approved belt and shaft guards, TEFC motor, belts and drives, drain flanged outlet and clean-out door.

Motors
Motors are totally-enclosed, fan-cooled and typically operate on 230/46OV, 3 phase, 60 cycle power. Motors are high efficiency, NEMA-rated with a minimum of 1.00 service factor. They are mounted on an adjustable base on side of the V frame for arrangement 49. Arrangement #1 mounts are standard for larger motors, 40 HP and up. Sepco Air, Inc. can also provide motor starters and safety disconnects. Premium efficiency motors are standard.
Drives
Fan drives are constant speed, V belt, with a minimum of 1.00 service factor. Drives contain sufficient grooves for required operation. High-capacity belts are also provided. Adjustable drives are available as an option.
Fan Wheels
The non-overloading, backwardly-inclined wheel is made of steel for maximum quality. These wheels are balanced to prevent vibration.
Fan Frame
Fan frames are comprised of heavy gauge, 1/4" thickness or greater, press broken steel that are coated for maximum corrosion resistance. This paint system is a result of testing, to provide maximum weather and corrosion resistance for the steel frame.
Bearings
Fans are equipped with the highest quality, heavy-duty pillow block bearings that are self-aligning and have a designed life of 100,00 hours, or greater.

Cooling Towers
The Closed Circuit Cooler is an induced draft counter flow design closed circuit cooler the most efficient in the industry. The counter flow design provides the Closed Circuit Cooler with inherently better operational and maintenance features. These features are described below.
Principle of Operation
The process fluid is circulated through the coil of the closed circuit cooler. Heat from the process fluid is dissipated through the coil tubes to the water cascading downward over the tubes. Simultaneously, air is drawn in through the air inlet louvers at the base of the cooler and travels upward over the coil opposite the water flow. A small portion of the water is evaporated which removes the heat. The warm moist air is drawn to the top of the closed circuit cooler by the fan and is discharged to the atmosphere. The remaining water falls to the sump at the bottom of the cooler where it is re-circulated by the pump, up through the water distribution system, and back down over the coils.
